Partnering with Saturn: Helping Close the Advice Gap

Earlier this week, our friends at Saturn announced the successful completion of a $15 million Series A funding round, led by European VC Singular, with participation from Shapers, Y Combinator, and Zeno Ventures. This investment will accelerate Saturn’s compliance-focused AI platform and support its mission to make regulated financial advice more accessible and affordable.

Why This Matters

In the UK, fewer than one in ten people received financial advice last year, according to the Financial Conduct Authority. While there’s a well-known shortage of advisers across the country, the challenge is amplified by the time and cost involved in delivering compliant advice. Advisers and support staff spend countless hours on documentation and regulatory tasks that could otherwise be dedicated to clients.

Founded in 2023 by Amal Jolly, Michael Ettlinger, and Rohit Vaish, Saturn’s mission is to make human-led financial advice accessible to one billion people. Their platform uses AI to automate much of the administrative burden, allowing advisers to dedicate more time to what truly matters – understanding their clients and helping them achieve their goals. For us at Albon Financial Planning (AFP), a firm built on delivering exceptional, client-focused advice through modern technology, this is a game-changer.

Early Adopters and Collaborators

AFP has always believed that technology should enhance, not replace, human advisers. Back in 2023, our founder, Rory, was among the first advisers to test Saturn’s platform. Since then, he has continued to share feedback and insights, helping shape new features based on real-world experience. By being an active part of Saturn’s development, AFP stays at the forefront of compliance automation – ensuring our clients benefit from the very latest tools and innovations.

At our recent anniversary event, we welcomed Tom from Saturn to speak about the evolving role of AI in financial planning. He emphasised that AI isn’t something to fear; it’s a tool that can amplify human expertise. By handling the repetitive and administrative tasks, Saturn’s technology frees advisers to focus on the emotional and human side of financial planning – something that lies at the heart of what we do. As Saturn’s CEO Amal Jolly notes, “Behind every financial plan is a human story.” This perfectly captures AFP’s own philosophy as a tech-first firm: we use technology to empower human connection, not replace it.

What This Means for Our Clients

Today, Saturn supports over 600 advisory firms and more than 2,000 advisers across the UK. AFP is proud to be among them. By leveraging Saturn’s innovative tools, we’re able to streamline compliance and documentation – freeing up more time to deliver personalised advice and ongoing support.

For AFP clients, this partnership means:

  • Faster turnaround times on reports and recommendations through continued automation.
  • Reliable compliance that evolves with FCA regulations, providing peace of mind that your advice remains secure and up to date.
  • Seamless integration with our internal systems, creating a smoother and more efficient experience from start to finish.

Looking Ahead

Our partnership with Saturn goes beyond technology – it’s about working together to close the advice gap and make quality financial planning more accessible to everyone. We’re excited by what this new funding means for the future of advice and look forward to sharing more about our collaboration in the weeks and months ahead.

At AFP, we believe the future of financial planning lies in the perfect balance of human empathy and intelligent technology. With partners like Saturn, we’re confident that future is already taking shape.
